Physician Jobs

The Future of Physician Jobs

The job outlook for physician jobs in the next six years is very good. Researchers suggest employment for physicians and surgeons will grow 22% between 2008 and 2018.

Certain areas of medicine will see an even increased need for doctors and physicians. According to United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, physicians willing to work in rural and low-income areas will find the most success, as these populations are generally underserved. Another area of necessity includes doctor jobs within the geriatric populations, especially in cardiology and radiology, as the risks for heart disease and cancer are increased with age, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In addition, when many of the health reforms are enforced in 2014, researchers predict that with more Americans covered by healthcare, the call for doctors and other healthcare employment will increase to meet this demand for care.

Doctor jobs are increasing because the industry continues to expand into different markets.
